Governor Thomas Brown's letter 1853.

Manuscript letter by Governor Thomas Brown, January 31, 1853, to Captain Wm. B. Cone who was a captain of a company of cavalry in Georgia. The letter gives Brown's reasons as to why he was unable to accept Cone's offer of a company of cavalry in case of Indian hostilities. It was written at the time when efforts were being made to remove Indians from Florida.
